Principal Data Scientist - Generative AI and LLM & SLM Development

Role Overview: As a Lead/Principal Data Scientist at MakeMyTrip, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and fine-tuning multilingual Small Language Models (SLMs) with advanced AI capabilities for various agentic applications in the travel domain. Your role will involve building custom Natural Language Inference (NLI) and reward-scoring models, implementing active learning pipelines for NLP and Named Entity Recognition (NER), and enhancing conversational AI systems to dynamically adapt and comprehend concepts across multiple lines of business. You will also drive end-to-end quality assurance, mentor engineering teams, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable solutions impacting millions of users. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and fine-tune multilingual Small Language Models (SLMs) for agentic applications in travel domain - Build custom Natural Language Inference (NLI) and reward-scoring models to enhance multi-agent response quality - Develop and implement active learning pipelines for NLP, NER, and domain-specific SLM training - Architect and enhance conversational AI systems to dynamically adapt and comprehend concepts - Drive end-to-end quality assurance and leverage A/B testing for performance optimization - Mentor and guide engineering teams in advanced SLM and Generative AI analytics - Collaborate across teams to deliver scalable solutions aligning with business goals - Focus on hosting and deploying Generative AI models on efficient infrastructure for large-scale operations Qualifications Required: - Deep experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP & NLI) and base language model retraining - Extensive experience in conversational NLP systems - Experience in SLM adaptor fine-tuning, SFT training, and retriever frameworks in Q&A bots - Demonstrable experience in scaling models to large-scale search systems - Preferably experience in building NLP active learning pipelines - Very good critical reasoning skills and hunger to work in a fast-paced environment Note: Join MakeMyTrip to be part of a team revolutionizing the travel industry with cutting-edge AI and Generative AI technologies, impacting millions of users worldwide.,
