Principal Apache Ozone Engineer at BairesDev

We are seeking a Principal Apache Ozone Engineer with deep expertise in distributed storage systems, object storage architectures, HDFS limitations, and erasure coding technologies. The technology stack includes popular open source storage systems - Apache Ozone, HDFS, and related big data technologies. Thus, there is ample scope for collaboration and contribution to open source. The ideal candidate will lead the design and optimization of high-performance storage systems, drive architectural decisions, and mentor engineering teams while delivering cutting-edge solutions for complex distributed storage challenges.

What You'll Do:

- Contribute actively to Apache Ozone and related open source projects as a core contributor.

- Design and optimize distributed storage systems with advanced object storage architectures.

- Architect erasure coding solutions to maximize storage efficiency and fault tolerance.

- Lead initiatives to address HDFS limitations through innovative storage designs.

- Drive performance optimization of distributed storage operations and data access patterns.

- Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership across projects.

What we are looking for:

- 10+ years of experience in software development.

- Strong expertise in distributed storage systems and object storage architectures.

- Deep understanding of HDFS limitations and alternative storage solutions.

- Proficiency in erasure coding techniques and fault-tolerant storage systems.

- Proven experience in performance tuning of large-scale distributed systems.

- Core contributions to Apache open source projects (Ozone, HDFS, Hadoop, or similar).

- Advanced level of English.
