Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and innovative NPD Engineer with 5 to 7 years of experience to join our engineering team. This role focuses on new product development, from concept to production, including cost estimation, design documentation, and direct customer interaction. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem-solver with strong technical and communication skills, capable of managing multiple projects and working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Lead and contribute to new product design and development projects from concept through production launch. Perform technical and cost estimations for new product proposals and modifications. Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and specifications. Interface with customers to understand requirements, present design proposals, and address technical queries. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and procurement to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability. Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and DFMEA as part of the product development process. Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities. Incorporate customer feedback and field performance data into design improvements. Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry standards and regulations. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering, Production, Industrial Engineering 5-7 years of experience in product design and development, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering company. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, and AutoCAD). Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes ((sheet metal, machining, moulding, welding, etc.), and design for manufacturing (DFM). Experience in cost estimation and working with quotations and RFQs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective customer interaction and documentation. Familiarity with design standards, GD&T, and engineering best practices. Preferred Skills: Experience with PDM/PLM systems and ERP integration. Knowledge of prototyping methods including additive manufacturing and CNC machining. Exposure to project management tools and methodologies. Familiarity with compliance requirements in regulated industries (e.g., automotive, aerospace).
