Prepress Executive

Key Responsibilities

. File Handling & Preparation:

* Receive and check customer artwork files (PDF, AI, CDR, PSD, etc.).

* Detect any missing fonts, incorrect colors, low-resolution images, etc. from file

* Correct technical issues in artwork before plate-making.

Layout and Imposition

* Create proper layout and imposition for multi-up jobs (e.g., carton nesting).

* Add printers marks like crop marks, registration marks, and colour bars.

Colour Management

* Ensure accurate color matching (CMYK & Pantone).

* Use color management tools to maintain print consistency.

Proofing

* Generate digital proofs (soft or hard copy) for internal review or customer approval.

* Coordinate approvals with design and production teams.

Plate Making

* Prepare files for CTP (Computer-to-Plate) systems.

* Operate or coordinate with CTP machine operators to make printing plates.

Software Usage

* Use industry-standard software: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, CorelDRAW, c.

Quality Control

* Ensure final files meet print specifications and packaging standards.

* Maintain backups and job archives for future reference.

Collaboration

* Work closely with the design team, production supervisors, and press operators.

* Suggest file or design improvements to enhance print result.

Preferred candidate profile

* Diploma / Degree in Printing Technology, Graphic Design, or related field.

* 25 years of experience in prepress for offset or packaging print industry.

* Knowledge of printing processes, colour theory, and packaging die-lines.
