Company: Precilayer Location: Vasai or Remote within India with periodic travel Function: Operations, Estimation, and Supplier Management Role summary Own the RFQ intake to quote handoff, translate customer requirements into manufacturable plans, and drive on-time, cost-effective production across CNC machining, 3D printing, vacuum casting, injection molding, and light assemblies. You will be the single-threaded owner for technical clarity, cost realism, and supplier execution. Key responsibilities RFQ Operations: Capture scope, drawings, STEP files, specifications, tolerances, finishing, inspection level, and delivery targets. Resolve ambiguities early. Costing and Estimation: Build should-costs for CNC, turning, additive, VC, IM, EDM, and secondary ops; estimate cycle times, setup, tooling, fixtures, and material yields; propose make-versus-buy with clear assumptions. DFM and Process Planning: Perform DFM reviews, define routings, work instructions, and inspection plans; map GD&T to process capability; select surface finish and heat treatment sequences. Supplier Management: Source and qualify suppliers pan-India for CNC and 3DP; issue RQs, compare quotes, negotiate lead time and cost, and place recommendations; track performance, NCRs, and corrective actions. Execution Control: Launch jobs, monitor WIP, clear blockers, maintain revision control, and ensure on-time delivery with the required documentation pack. Documentation: Maintain BOMs, routings, traveler packets, FAIRs when required, certificates of conformity, and traceability per ISO 9001 and customer requirements. Customer Interface: Join technical calls, present trade-offs, and align on risk, timeline, and acceptance criteria. Data and Systems: Keep ERP and trackers current; maintain cost libraries, machining data, and post-mortems for continuous improvement. Preferred candidate profile Education: B.E. or equivalent in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering. Experience: 3 to 7 years in precision manufacturing with direct exposure to CNC machining and at least one of SLS/MJF/DMLS or injection molding. Proven estimating ownership for small to mid-batch work. Technical depth: Strong on machining fundamentals, feeds and speeds, workholding, toolpath strategies, and fixture design. Comfortable reading complex drawings, GD&T, and callouts for surface finish, flatness, concentricity, and runout. Materials familiarity across aluminum, stainless steels, tool steels, bronzes, and engineering polymers. Working knowledge of post-processes: anodizing, passivation, electropolish, HT, blasting, grinding, and metrology basics. Software: Autodesk Inventor preferred; SolidWorks acceptable. CAM exposure is a plus. Competent with Excel or Google Sheets for cost models. Supply chain: Active network of reliable CNC and 3DP suppliers across India; ability to qualify, benchmark, and negotiate. Communication: Clear written and spoken English. Able to write crisp RFQs, DFM notes, and status updates. Work style: Detail orientation, deadline discipline, and calm under pressure. Bias to document and close loops. Success metrics (first 6 to 12 months) RFQ turnaround time and quote win rate. On-time delivery rate and first-pass yield. Cost variance versus should-cost at PO and at close. Supplier on-time and NCR rate trend. Rework and deviation count trending down. Nice to have Exposure to medical or aerospace documentation practices. Hands-on with CMM, vision inspection, or gauge R and R. Basic scripting for data cleanup or quoting templates.
