Job Purpose: The Purchase Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, spare parts, and services essential for the operation and maintenance of the bus fleet and related infrastructure. The role ensures timely and cost-effective procurement while adhering to company policies, quality standards, and supplier compliance. Key Responsibilities: Procurement Planning: Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and logistics teams to forecast purchasing needs. Plan and prioritize procurement based on operational schedules and inventory levels. Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers. Obtain quotations, negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules. Purchase Execution: Issue Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with company policies and approved budgets. Ensure timely delivery of goods and services as per agreed terms. Inventory Coordination: Liaise with the store/inventory team to track usage and stock levels. Assist in maintaining minimum stock levels of critical items like tyres, batteries, lubricants, and bus spare parts. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to procurement policies, statutory regulations, and quality standards. Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier documents. Cost Optimization: Continuously explore cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality. Evaluate supplier performance and recommend changes based on delivery timelines, quality, and pricing. Support Audits & Reporting: Assist in internal and external audits related to procurement activities. Prepare periodic procurement reports and MIS for management review. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong negotiation and communication skills Knowledge of procurement best practices and vendor management Familiarity with automotive or fleet-related parts and consumables Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Tally, or similar) Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, Engineering, or related field 2–4 years of experience in procurement, preferably in automotive, transport, or mobility services Understanding of the Payment of Gratuity Act, transport regulations, and other applicable laws (preferred but not mandatory) Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month Benefits: Cell phone reimbursement Provident Fund Schedule: Day shift Supplemental Pay: Yearly bonus Work Location: In person Expected Start Date: 20/06/2025
