Exec Recruit Group is a growing independent recruitment agency managing a portfolio of 9 niche brands across the UK and the US. As a fully remote company, we prioritise innovation and efficiency in our marketing operations across multiple markets.

The Role

We are looking for a Part-Time PR Copywriter with a talent and passion for writing to significantly elevate our press coverage and brand presence.

You will be responsible for researching industry topics and intimately understanding our portfolio of specialist recruitment brands (5 UK and 3 US). Your primary focus will be on producing strong, newsworthy content - including press releases and thought leadership articles that drive regular and strong press coverage.

You will be expected to:

• Liaise with UK and US media to secure publication and visibility.
• Generate high-quality press coverage for all brands.
• Work closely with our PR and Branding Manager.
• Create and maintain your own individual press distribution list relevant to our niches rather than relying on blanked media distribution software.

The success of this role will be assessed on the quality of your content and the resulting press coverage achieved.

• This position is offered strictly on a subcontractor basis to reduce overhead costs, allowing us to offer a highly competitive rate of pay. During your agreed working hours, you are expected to remain available and contactable via Teams to enable fast, collaborative dialogue as needed.
• You must be available for regular Microsoft Teams calls with our UK-based head office.
• We are flexible on the working hours but you are expected to remain available and contactable via Teams during your agreed working hours to enable fast, collaborative dialogue as needed.
• You must have fast and reliable internet, your own up-to-date laptop or desktop computer, and a quiet workspace or high-quality headset for clear, uninterrupted communication.
• You must have fluent in English with strong communications skill both written and oral.

Key Responsibilities

Press Content & Research:

• Thoroughly research market trends and topics relevant to our 8 specialist recruitment brands (5 UK, 3 US)
• Proactively generate strong, newsworthy content that positions our brands as industry leaders
• Draft and deliver press releases, articles, and thought leadership pieces for distribution

Media Relations & Coverage:

• Actively liaise with media contacts to pitch stories and secure strong, regular press coverage
• Maintain an understanding of each brand's voice and ensure consistency across all marketing materials

Writing & Editing:

• Produce clear, engaging, and grammatically flawless content that aligns with our brand voices
• Draft high-quality articles, using AI tools (such as Claude and ChatGPT) as part of the workflow, but with a clear understanding of their limitations

Essential Requirements

• Exceptional command of written and spoken English is essential
• Must have a Degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Media & Communications or similar
• Copywriting expertise (including press releases)
• Experience working with UK, US, Canadian and/or Australian clients
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of tone and content types
• Proven ability to work to tight deadlines with strong attention to detail
• Confident communicator who can bring ideas to the table and take feedback constructively
• UK working hours availability (e.g., specific part-time hours within 7am-3pm UK time)

Desirable Skills

• A track record in a business-to-business environment and securing high quality and consistent press coverage within credible publications
• Recruitment copywriting or copywriting experience in the recruitment, finance, human resources or within the entrepreneurial leadership environment would be a distinct benefit
