Position Overview PPM Global Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Primavera P6 Implementation Consultant to support the configuration, data migration, training, and post-go-live enablement activities for a major client transitioning from Microsoft Project to Oracle Primavera P6. This consultant will be responsible for executing multiple project phases—ranging from system assessment and P6 configuration to data migration, Power BI integration, and user training—aligned with the detailed scope of work defined for our customer. The ideal candidate combines deep Primavera P6 technical expertise with strong functional knowledge of project controls, and has experience leading implementations within industrial or capital project environments (refineries, utilities, or manufacturing preferred). Key Responsibilities 1. Assessment & Requirements Definition Evaluate the client’s current Microsoft Project environment, turnaround planning, and capital project scheduling workflows. Identify functional, data, and reporting requirements for successful Primavera P6 adoption. Produce a Requirements Summary Report outlining recommendations for configuration and rollout strategy. 2. Data Integration and Import Process Design Define methods for importing work management and asset management data (e.g., work orders, task lists, resources) into P6. Develop data mapping matrices, import templates, and validation checklists. Create a scalable import workflow compatible with Excel, XER, and XML formats. 3. Primavera P6 Configuration Configure the Primavera P6 database to support both Turnaround Events and Capital Projects, including EPS/WBS structures, codes, calendars, user access, and resource dictionaries. Produce and maintain a P6 Configuration Design Document to support change control and knowledge transfer. 4. Microsoft Project to Primavera P6 Migration Define and execute a structured process for converting active project schedules from Microsoft Project to P6. Create and apply field mapping guides, conversion templates, and QA procedures. Validate and troubleshoot migrated data for accuracy and logic integrity. 5. Power BI Field Mapping Identify P6 database fields required for Power BI reporting and analytics. Develop a Field Mapping Matrix linking P6 tables and fields to Power BI data models. 6. Training Development & Delivery Develop and deliver custom Primavera P6 training programs for: Turnaround Schedulers Capital Project Schedulers Primavera TeamMember Users (field personnel) Create hands-on exercises, quick-start guides, and job aids tailored to client roles. 7. Post-Go-Live Coaching & Support Provide end-user “hypercare” and adoption support following implementation. Resolve user issues, reinforce best practices, and recommend system and process enhancements. Qualifications Required: 5+ years of experience implementing or administering Oracle Primavera P6 EPPM or P6 Professional Demonstrated experience performing P6 configuration, data migration, and integration with other systems Proven ability to develop and deliver end-user training and support adoption programs Strong understanding of Microsoft Project-to-Primavera data mapping and schedule logic Familiarity with Power BI or similar BI tools for schedule and cost reporting Excellent communication and client-facing skills Ability to work as a 1099 independent contractor, or LLC Preferred: Experience with industrial turnaround, refinery, or manufacturing environments Prior consulting experience implementing Primavera for large capital programs Oracle Primavera certification(s) Strong Excel, SQL, or data transformation skills Engagement Terms Type: Independent Contractor (1099) Compensation: Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience Duration: 3-6 Months Location: Remote How to Apply Interested candidates should provide the following: Résumé/CV highlighting Primavera P6 implementation experience Brief statement describing relevant project experience Availability and hourly rate expectations
