- Oversee the on-site commissioning process for BESS components like battery modules, inverters, transformers, gensets and control systems. - Work closely with Site Managers, Commissioning Managers, Quality Engineers, and other site personnel to ensure smooth project execution. - Implement safety protocols, quality control measures, and environmental standards throughout the commissioning process. - Contribute to the development and execution of project-specific commissioning plans. - Maintain accurate and complete project documentation, including test reports, as-built drawings, and handover packages. - Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting support after commissioning, as needed. - Strong understanding of power systems, BESS components (batteries, inverters, BMS, etc.), and relevant industry standards. - Contribute to the development and management of project schedules, ensuring timely completion of commissioning activities.
Role & responsibilities - Design Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including SLDs, layouts, and system integration plans for utility-scale and C&I projects. - Perform BESS sizing, battery/inverter selection, and system feasibility studies. - Conduct electrical calculations such as voltage drop, fault level, and load flow. - Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards such as BIS, UL 9540, NFPA, etc. - Model system behavior for performance, lifecycle, and safety scenarios - Participate in client-facing technical meetings to explain design decisions and system performance expectations. - Contribute to technical proposals, project scope development, and preliminary design packages. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of BESS technologies, codes, and industry trends. - Conduct technical reviews of peer work to ensure quality and compliance. - Assist with field support and site assessments on an as-needed basis. Preferred candidate profile - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field. - 5 years of experience in the solar, storage, or microgrid industry, including 3 years focused on BESS design and integration. - Strong knowledge of Lithium-Ion Battery design and integration as Microgrid - Proficiency with AutoCAD, modelling tools, and control system concepts. - Deep understanding of energy storage applications including peak shaving, time-of-use shifting, demand management. - Familiarity with microgrid design, including PV + storage + genset configurations and control architectures. - Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with clients, utilities, and cross-functional engineering teams.
