The role of Power BI in Sydney/Melbourne requires proficiency in PowerBI, SQL, M-query, Dax functions, and Power apps. As a Power BI professional, you will be responsible for Power BI development and administration, including building Analysis Services reporting models and developing visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop. Your role will involve connecting to data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business Intelligence purposes. You should excel in analytical thinking to translate data into informative visuals and reports. Proficiency in making DAX queries in Power BI desktop and using advanced level calculations on the dataset is essential. You will be responsible for the design methodology and project documentation, as well as developing, publishing, and scheduling Power BI reports according to business requirements. It is crucial to understand business requirements thoroughly and develop data models accordingly while managing available resources efficiently. Additionally, knowledge and experience in prototyping, designing, requirement analysis, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Tableau, SQL data warehouse, PolyBase, Visual Studio, and other secondary tools are beneficial for this role.
