Job Title: Mechanical Technician – Power Generation (Expatriate) Location: Cameroon Employment Type: Full-Time (On-Call Rotation Required) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to support the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems in power generation facilities, including gas turbines, steam plants, diesel generators, and renewable energy installations. The role requires a strong background in rotating equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and operational support in a 24/7 industrial environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Equipment Maintenance Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on turbines, pumps, compressors, and auxiliary systems. Conduct laser or optical alignments for rotating equipment. Replace bearings, seals, and gaskets on critical machinery. 2. Mechanical Systems Service and maintain fuel systems (natural gas, diesel, hydrogen). Maintain heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs). Repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems. 3. Operations Support Assist in plant startups and shutdowns. Monitor vibration trends and interpret oil analysis reports. Implement predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies. 4. Safety and Compliance Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures in accordance with OSHA 1910.147. Comply with API and ASME standards. Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records. Qualifications and Requirements Essential: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in power plant or heavy industrial maintenance. Proficiency in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators). Skilled in the use of rigging and hoisting equipment. Basic knowledge of pipefitting and welding. Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights. Ability to lift 60+ lbs regularly and work on 10+ hour shifts. Preferred: OEM certifications (GE, Siemens, Solar Turbines). ASME Section IX welding qualification. Vibration Analysis Certification (Category I or II). Work Environment 24/7 operational power plant environment, with common 12-hour shifts. Exposure to high noise levels (>85 dB), extreme temperatures, and rotating equipment hazards.
