Position Details Job Title : UPS Service Engineer Department : Technical/Field Service Experience Required : 2-5 years Location : Bomikhal, Bhubaneswar, Odisha Employment Type : Full-Time Job Summary The UPS Service Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing UPS systems and associated power-backup equipment. The engineer supports customers by ensuring reliable power continuity for critical infrastructure through preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and technical assistance. Key Responsibilities a. Installation & Commissioning Install and configure UPS systems, battery banks, and power distribution units. Conduct site surveys, load assessments, and ensure proper system sizing. Perform start-up, testing, and commissioning activities. b. Maintenance & Repairs Execute preventive maintenance to improve system life and reliability. Diagnose faults in UPS systems, inverters, rectifiers, and control modules. Replace or repair batteries, capacitors, fans, and electronic components. c. Troubleshooting & Technical Support Identify and resolve issues using diagnostic tools and software. Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers. Guide customers on alarm handling, system usage, and fault recovery. d. Documentation & Reporting Prepare service reports, maintenance logs, and checklists. Maintain accurate records of service history and parts usage. Follow all company and industry safety procedures. e. Customer Coordination Communicate with customers to understand service requirements. Coordinate with internal teams for parts, scheduling, and escalations. Recommend system upgrades and performance improvements.\ Required Skills & Qualifications a. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of UPS technology, power electronics, and electrical systems. Ability to use multimeters, battery testers, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic software. Familiarity with major UPS brands (APC, Emerson, Eaton, Delta, Vertiv, etc.). b. Educational Background Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering OR ITI (Electrician / Electronics) with solid experience. c. Experience 4–5 years of hands-on experience** in UPS installation, servicing, and maintenance. d. Soft Skills Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Good communication and customer-handling ability. Strong documentation and reporting skills. Ability to work independently in field environments. Physical & Work Requirements Willingness to travel to client sites. Ability to safely lift and handle batteries and equipment. Comfortable working in data centers, industrial sites, and electrical rooms. Must adhere to safety protocols and PPE usage.
