Prepare and position patients for ECG procedures in a comfortable and safe manner. Attach electrodes to the patient’s chest, arms, and legs to record electrical impulses from the heart. Operate ECG machines, Holter monitors, stress test equipment, and telemetry systems. Monitor and recognize irregular heart activity and report urgent findings to supervising medical staff. Ensure accurate and detailed recording of test results for physician interpretation. Maintain and calibrate ECG equipment regularly. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Enter test results into electronic medical records (EMR) and prepare reports. Educate patients on procedures and provide aftercare instructions when necessary. Assist with training or supervision of junior staff or interns, if required. Follow all infection control, safety, and clinical protocols.
