We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic System Engineer to support the development of a compact, heavy-duty, remote-operated demolition/industrial machine . This is a freelance, remote-based opportunity for a professional with proven expertise in designing complete hydraulic systems for tracked or articulated industrial equipment. Responsibilities Design the full hydraulic architecture including pump selection, valve blocks, cylinders, hoses, fittings, reservoirs, cooling, and filtration systems . Develop hydraulic schematics, circuit diagrams, and detailed BOM . Perform accurate engineering calculations for flow rate, pressure, actuator sizing, hydraulic motor selection, heat dissipation, and system efficiency . Integrate hydraulic systems with mechanical linkages, actuators, booms, arms, attachments, and tracked drive functions . Recommend commercially available hydraulic components suitable for industrial use. Collaborate with mechanical CAD and electronics/controls teams to ensure seamless system integration. Provide guidance on manufacturability, assembly, maintenance, and serviceability of the hydraulic system. Support prototype testing and troubleshooting (remotely, where applicable). Requirements Proven experience designing hydraulic systems for: Construction equipment (e.g., mini excavators, skid-steer loaders, drilling rigs, demolition machines) Industrial or heavy-duty machinery Remote-controlled, robotic, or tracked/compact industrial platforms Technical Expertise: Ability to create detailed hydraulic schematics, circuit diagrams, and simulation-ready circuits . Strong understanding of pumps (gear/piston), proportional valves, control valves, servo valves, and hydraulic motors . Knowledge of load calculations, relief settings, spool configurations, flow balancing, pressure control, and component sizing . Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) for hydraulic routing and integration . Ability to work independently and deliver well-documented, production-ready designs . Nice to Have Experience with electro-hydraulic or remote-controlled systems . Knowledge of counterbalance valves, safety valves, load-holding systems, and fail-safe controls . Experience designing hydronics for compact tracked or demolition machines .
