1. Design Concept Development Create and develop unique, trend-forward collections that align with the brand's aesthetic and target market. Conduct trend analysis and market research on fabrics, colors, and silhouettes relevant to women's western wear. Conceptualize seasonal themes, design stories, and mood boards reflecting the brand’s ethos. 2. Sketching and Technical Design Create detailed sketches (both hand-drawn and digital) for garments, including dresses, co-ords, Pakistani kurta sets. Ensure accurate technical drawings and specifications for production teams, including measurements, material details, and construction techniques. Work closely with pattern makers to ensure the vision is translated into accurate, wearable pieces. 3. Fabric and Trim Selection Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, embellishments, and hardware to reflect the brand's style and quality standards. Develop fabric and color palettes each season, considering both style and functionality for western wear. 4. Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams Collaborate with the product development, merchandising, and marketing teams to ensure alignment with the brand's strategy and business goals. Work closely with buyers and merchandisers to ensure designs meet customer demand, pricing strategies, and trends. 5. Fit and Sample Reviews Oversee the fitting process, ensuring that garments reflect the original design concept, fit standards, and quality expectations. Make adjustments to patterns and designs based on feedback from sample fittings. 6. Trend Analysis and Forecasting Stay up-to-date with global fashion trends, particularly within the western wear niche, to inform future collections and new product ideas. Attend trade shows, fashion events, and workshops to remain at the forefront of industry trends and techniques. 7. Team Leadership and Mentorship Lead and mentor junior designers, providing guidance on creative design processes and best practices. Foster a collaborative and innovative design environment, encouraging creativity and original thinking within the team. 8. Quality Control Ensure all designs meet high standards of craftsmanship, construction, and durability suitable for western wear functionality. Oversee the production process, ensuring final products adhere to the brand's specifications. 9. Brand Representation Act as a brand ambassador, maintaining and enhancing the brand’s identity and positioning in the market. Work closely with marketing and PR teams to develop campaigns and presentations for fashion shows, retail buyers, and media. 10. Budget and Timeline Management Manage design budgets and ensure collections are delivered on time and within financial constraints. Oversee the allocation of resources and timelines for fabric sourcing, sample development, and production.
