PLM Technical Architect

Role & responsibilities

• Consult IT Managers, Project Managers and Solution Architects with regards to technical feasibility and best-practices in Windchill. Prepare and support strategic technology decisions.
• Provide technical leadership to Windchill development teams (both inhouse and external). Define coding standards, enforce best practices, and conduct code reviews.
• Design, implement and maintain flexible software architectures as a foundation for customizations and interfaces.
• Define quality gates, establish quality assurance and monitoring processes.
• Continously adapt development / build / deployment processes towards modern standards and principles, e.g. DevOps, in close collaboration with the application infrastructure team.
• Support the Problem Management of the Windchill production environment.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest market innovations, automation methods, and AI integrations.

Preferred candidate profile

• Very strong knowledge of large-scale Windchill customizations and integrations.
• Strong knowledge of Java programming and Java Web Application Frameworks including JSP, Spring and AJAX.
• Strong knowledge of IT architecture, integrations and related technologies (e.g. SOAP, ODATA, SQL, Data Integration).
• Knowledge of Windchill system administration, infrastructure, build and deployment.
• Excellence in agile IT project management (methods, roles, tools).
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills to design complex technical solutions.
• Demonstrated hands-on expertise in designing, developing, and deploying Windchill customizations and integrations.
• Experience in designing, developing and maintaining technical architectures for efficient and effective CI/CD operations.
• Experience in managing and steering external service providers and / or a development team.
