PLC Software Engineer

As a PLC Software Engineer at Minerals & Metals in Kolkata, you will be responsible for utilizing your skills and knowledge to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of PLC and HMI software for heavy industrial equipment in ports, power & steel plants, mines, utility & BOP for process plants, and material handling projects. Your expertise in PLC/DCS programming on platforms like Rockwell, Siemens, and ABB, as well as HMI/SCADA development, will be essential for the successful execution of automation systems. Your role will involve hands-on experience in commissioning automation systems, troubleshooting issues, and establishing networks. You will need to have a deep understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, Ethernet IP, Profinet, Profibus, and IEC 61850 to ensure seamless interfacing with various systems. Additionally, you will be involved in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at vendors" premises, pre-commissioning, networking activities on-site, and commissioning of PLC systems. Collaboration with third-party system suppliers to integrate sub-systems into the main automation project will be a crucial aspect of your responsibilities. Furthermore, your expertise will be essential in providing troubleshooting support during operation & maintenance and offering after-sales service to customers. Your role will require a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) & Master of Technology (M.Tech) qualification with a minimum of 3-15 years of experience in the field.
