A Textile Designer creates original designs and patterns for fabrics used in fashion, home décor, furnishings, and industrial applications. This role combines creativity with technical knowledge of materials, weaving, printing, and manufacturing processes to develop textiles that are both aesthetically appealing and commercially viable. Key Responsibilities: Design & Development Create original textile patterns, prints, weaves, and surface designs for various products. Develop design concepts based on trends, market research, and client briefs. Produce digital and hand-rendered artwork, colorways, and repeats. Trend & Market Research Analyze emerging trends in color, pattern, and materials. Attend trade shows, research forecasting services, and review competitor products. Technical & Production Collaboration Prepare detailed technical specifications for manufacturers and mills. Work closely with production teams to ensure design feasibility and accuracy during weaving, knitting, or printing. Review fabric samples, swatches, and prototypes; make necessary adjustments. Quality Assurance Ensure final outputs meet quality, durability, colorfastness, and brand standards. Resolve production issues related to design, coloration, or materials. Client & Team Coordination Present design concepts to clients or internal teams. Collaborate with fashion designers, product developers, buyers, and merchandisers.
