To excel in this role, you should have a Doctorate in Genetics, Plant Breeding, or related fields, a strong foundation in quantitative genetics, genomics, and statistical modeling, experience with large datasets using Perl, Linux, Unix; C/C++ knowledge is a plus, proficiency in R, Python, Julia, knowledge of genomic selection and GWAS, familiarity with AI/ML algorithms for predictive breeding, understanding of agile methodologies and software quality assurance, strong communication skills, and awareness of agricultural R&D trends. Critical experience required includes applying data science in R&D environments, effective collaboration in multi-disciplinary teams, scientific achievements (publications, patents, etc.), end-to-end modeling from development to deployment, and working with IT to build and support analytics applications.
