Role & responsibilities

• Patient Assessment and Evaluation.

Conducting thorough physical assessments to determine patient needs and limitations related to cardiovascular or neurological conditions.

• Treatment Plan Development

Creating individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, including exercises, manual therapy, and other therapeutic modalities.

• Treatment Implementation

Educating patients and their families on rehabilitation strategies, preventative measures, and long-term management of their conditions.

• Regularly monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes.

• Equipment Maintenance:

  Ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of all equipment used in treatment.

• Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals:

  Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.

• Following Clinical Policies and Procedures:

  Adhering to all relevant clinical policies and procedures, including safety protocols, infection control, and emergency procedures.

• Administrative Tasks:

  Assisting with administrative tasks such as billing, data recording, and feedback collection.

Specific Considerations for Cardiology:

• Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation:

  Assisting patients recovering from cardiac surgery, heart attacks, or other cardiovascular conditions with exercise programs and lifestyle modifications to improve heart health and functional capacity.

• Pre- and Post-Operative Care:

  Providing pre- and post-operative physiotherapy to optimize patient outcomes and minimize complications.

• Monitoring Hemodynamics:

  Monitoring patients' cardiovascular hemodynamics during treatment and adjusting treatment plans accordingly.

Specific Considerations for Neuroscience:

• Neurological Rehabilitation:

  Assisting patients with neurological conditions, such as stroke, spinal cord injury, or traumatic brain injury, with regaining lost function and improving mobility.

• Gait and Balance Training:

  Providing gait and balance training to improve walking ability and reduce the risk of falls.

• Neuromuscular Re-education:

  Employing techniques to re-educate muscles and improve motor control.
