To introduce and develop a love for indoor games among primary school children, with a particular focus on table tennis. The instructor will plan and conduct age-appropriate games sessions, foster sportsmanship, and help students build foundational skills in indoor sports within a safe, supportive, and fun environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging indoor sports lessons for primary students, with a focus on table tennis and other indoor games (e.g. carrom, chess, etc.).
  • Teach basic rules, techniques, and strategies of table tennis appropriate for younger age groups.
  • Organize skill-building drills, fun matches, and mini-tournaments to develop children's interest and competence.
  • Ensure child safety during all physical activities and maintain discipline and fairness during games.
  • Identify and mentor talented students for school-level competitions and events.
  • Manage and maintain sports equipment, especially indoor games resources like table tennis tables, bats, balls, etc.
  • Encourage teamwork, respect, and positive social interaction through structured play and group activities.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate movement-based learning and promote physical well-being.
  • Organize inter-house or inter-class indoor sports events and friendly matches.
  • Maintain records of student participation and progress in indoor sports.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Coaching, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young children (ages 5–12) in a school or coaching setting.
  • Proficiency in table tennis, with the ability to teach fundamentals and organize training sessions.

Desirable:

  • Certification or formal training in table tennis coaching (e.g., from a sports authority or federation).
  • First Aid/Child Safety certification.
  • Experience organizing school sports events or indoor tournaments.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of child development and ability to engage young learners through sports.
  • Excellent communication and motivational skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching indoor games.
  • Basic equipment maintenance and knowledge of sports safety protocols.
  • Ability to manage groups of young students in a positive and energetic manner.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily indoor environment (school hall, indoor sports room, or designated play areas).
  • May require involvement in school events beyond standard hours (e.g. sports day, tournaments).
