Photographer & Videographer

A dental hospital photographer, typically known as a clinical or medical photographer, captures high-quality, standardized images and videos for patient records, diagnosis, treatment planning, education, research, and legal documentation. The role requires a blend of technical photography skills and an understanding of the clinical environment. Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Documentation: The primary duty involves photographing patients to document their initial condition, treatment progress (e.g., orthodontic changes, pre/post-surgery), and final outcomes. This includes both extraoral (facial profiles) and intraoral (inside the mouth using mirrors and retractors) photography.
• Specialized Imaging: Using specialized equipment and techniques such as macro photography, cross-polarization, and different lighting methods to accurately capture details, including color, shape, and texture for aesthetic cases, which aids communication with dental labs.
• Patient Care and Communication: Interacting with patients in a sensitive and empathetic manner, explaining procedures clearly, and obtaining informed consent for image use, all while ensuring patient dignity and confidentiality are maintained according to regulations like HIPAA or GDPR.
• Collaboration: Working closely with dentists, orthodontists, surgeons, nurses, and lab technicians to understand specific imaging requirements and provide tailored visual solutions.
• Image Management and Editing: Processing, editing, and enhancing images using software like Adobe Photoshop to ensure accuracy (without altering diagnostic content), archiving images securely in a database, and managing patient records.
• Non-Clinical Duties: Creating graphic design materials (e.g., patient information leaflets, posters for presentations), providing general photography support for hospital public relations and marketing, and potentially assisting with video production.
• Equipment Maintenance: Operating and maintaining digital cameras, lighting equipment, and computer systems, and troubleshooting technical problems to ensure optimal functionality.
