Key Responsibilities: Collect blood samples from patients using approved techniques. Verify patient identity and ensure accurate labeling of samples. Maintain proper hygiene and follow infection control protocols. Prepare specimens for transportation or testing as per lab guidelines. Safely dispose of needles, syringes, and biohazard waste. Comfort and reassure patients during the blood collection process. Maintain stock of collection supplies and report shortages. Record and update sample collection details in logs or lab systems. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in the phlebotomy area. Follow all legal, ethical, and medical standards related to patient care.
