Job Description

Mahindra University is seeking a Doctoral Student for the Prime Minister's Early Career Research Grant (PM ECRG) ANRF. If you are a highly motivated individual with a strong background in condensed matter physics, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity. To be considered, please send an email to banasree.sadhukhan@mahindrauniversity.edu.in with a detailed CV that includes your academic qualifications, experience, and contact information. Please use the subject line "Application for PhD Position PM ECRG Project on Altermagnets." The project, titled "Emerging magneto-transport and thermoelectric responses in altermagnets for novel application of energy harvesting," aims to investigate the unconventional magneto-transport and thermoelectric behavior in a unique class of quantum materials known as altermagnets. These materials exhibit symmetry-protected spin-polarized transport with zero net magnetization. By employing theoretical modeling, numerical simulations, and data analysis, the project intends to uncover mechanisms that enable efficient energy harvesting and spin-caloritronic functionalities. The anticipated outcomes could significantly impact the development of next-generation energy-efficient devices and green technologies. The fellowship details for this position are as follows: - Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): 37,000/month + 30% HRA = 48,100 (for 2 years) - Senior Research Fellowship (SRF): 42,000/month + 30% HRA = 54,600 (for 1 year) The Principal Investigator for this project is Dr. Banasree Sadhukhan. You can find more information about Dr. Sadhukhan's profile on the Mahindra University website: https://www.mahindrauniversity.edu.in/faculty/banasree-sadhukhan/. Additionally, you can explore the Computational Lab Website at https://banasreesadhukhan.wixsite.com/computational-conden. The field of study for this project is Condensed Matter Physics. The application deadline is 31st July 2025. The location for this position is Mahindra University, Hyderabad, India. We are looking for highly motivated and passionate individuals to join our research group and contribute to this cutting-edge project in quantum materials and energy harvesting. Join us in this exciting opportunity to be a part of innovative research that could shape the future of energy-efficient technologies.,
