One Ph.D. position is available in Dr. Banasree Sadhukhan's group at Mahindra University under the Prime Ministers Early Career Research Grant (PM ECRG) - ANRF. The position is open to highly motivated candidates with a strong background in condensed matter physics. The successful candidate will work on the project titled "Emerging magneto-transport and thermoelectric responses in altermagnets for novel application of energy harvesting." The project aims to explore the unconventional magneto-transport and thermoelectric behavior in a novel class of quantum materials known as altermagnets. These materials combine symmetry-protected spin-polarized transport with zero net magnetization. Through theoretical modeling, numerical simulations, and data analysis, the project seeks to uncover mechanisms that enable efficient energy harvesting and spin-caloritronic functionalities. The outcomes of this research could significantly contribute to the design of next-generation energy-efficient devices and green technologies. Position: Senior Research Scientist Location: Remote Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Scientist to lead innovative projects in the field of advanced energy harvesting systems . This role involves designing, simulating, and prototyping cutting-edge solutions to power next-generation IoT and industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in energy harvesting technologies, power management, and low-power embedded systems integration. Roles & Responsibilities: Lead the design, simulation, and prototyping of advanced energy harvesting systems including RF, optical, and vibrational modules. Develop efficient power conditioning and energy management circuits with next-generation storage solutions such as supercapacitors and thin-film batteries. Integrate low-power sensor systems and wireless communication modules (e.g., BLE, Zigbee, LoRaWAN) within the energy harvesting architecture. Perform analytical modeling and empirical validation of harvesting mechanisms to ensure reliability and robustness in industrial-grade applications. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to translate research concepts into deployable solutions. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Required Qualifications: PhD or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field. Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in energy harvesting systems design and development. Strong knowledge of power electronics, low-power circuit design, and wireless communication protocols. Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB, COMSOL, or similar. Proven track record of prototyping and validating advanced energy harvesting technologies. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment. Preferred Skills: Experience with industrial IoT applications. Knowledge of environmental energy sources and practical deployment challenges. Strong publication or patent record in related fields.
