Advertisement for the position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) under the ICMR-funded project at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology

Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for engagement of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)in the research project funded by ‘ ICMR’, Government of India at Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali.

Title of the Research Project: “Netrin-1 Centric Precision Therapy for Cervical Cancer Treatment by Integrating Computer Modelling, Experimental Methods, and Nanoformulation with Protein-ligand Interactions.”.

Nature of the Project: Theoretical and Computational

Principal Investigator: Prof. Md. Ehesan Ali, Scientist-F

Name of the position available: Project Research Scientist-I

Number of positions available: One

Qualifications:

Essential: First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG Degrees (Computational Chemistry/Biology/ (bio) Physics/BioSciences/Chemical Biology/Bioinformatics or related areas)

Desirable Experience: Research interest or experience in Computational Biology/Chemistry and Bioinformatics, Molecular Dynamics Simulations, programming knowledge in Python, and experience in handling big data and Data Analysis, Density Functional Theory (DFT)

Age limit: Must not be over 35 years as of 30.11.2025, which is relaxable for specific reserved categories as per the rules of the Government of India.

Fellowship: Rs. 56,000/- pm + HRA (As Applicable)

Project duration: Initially one year and may be extended based on performance of the candidate and availability of funds.

General Terms and Conditions:

• The position is purely on a temporary basis and renewable each year, subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of three years/till the completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
• The position is co-terminus with the project.
• No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.
• Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark sheets and other testimonials must be presented along with the self-attested photocopies of these documents at the interview (when the interview will take in person).
