Role Overview

As an Assistant Pharmacist, you will support the pharmacist in dispensing medications, managing inventory, ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations, and delivering excellent customer service. This role is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and eager to grow in a professional healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists in reviewing, preparing, and dispensing prescriptions accurately.

Counsel patients on the correct use of medicines, possible side effects, and storage guidelines.

Manage and maintain inventory, ensuring proper stock rotation, timely ordering, and removal of expired or damaged medicines.

Support in handling controlled and semi-controlled medicines in compliance with state regulations.

Ensure accurate labeling and packaging of medicines.

Handle billing, POS transactions, and assist with insurance/billing protocols (if applicable).

Uphold cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards within the pharmacy.

Assist in supervising and guiding pharmacist trainees and pharmacy executives.

Stay updated on pharmaceutical advancements, product knowledge, and industry best practices.

Provide excellent customer service, assisting with OTC products, wellness, and healthcare solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) from a recognized institution.

Valid registration with the Kerala State Pharmacy Council.

Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and therapeutic uses.

Excellent communication skills in Malayalam; knowledge of Hindi/other languages is an added advantage.

Customer-service orientation with the ability to counsel patients effectively.

Basic computer and POS system knowledge (MS Office, billing software, inventory systems).

Team player with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
