The DAV Group - Chennai, functioning under the aegis of Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society was established in 1970 at Gopalapuram in Chennai with just 50 students. The Group today, caters to over 40,000 students across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It has a staff of 1500 plus which includes 1,200 teachers. Four of our branches have been consistently ranked amongst top 15 schools in the country.

In addition to K-12 schooling, DAV has recently ventured into Higher Education with DAV-SMK Fomra College of Arts & Science at Kelambakkam, Chennai.

The PGT Zoology position is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about animal biology and ecology. This role involves teaching advanced zoological concepts to students, fostering a deep understanding of animal behaviour, physiology, and conservation. The successful candidate will engage students through innovative teaching methods and practical experiences, preparing them for careers in zoology and related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality lectures and practical sessions on various topics within zoology, including animal anatomy, behaviour, and ecology.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Assess student performance through examinations, coursework, and practical assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Conduct research in the field of zoology, contributing to the body of knowledge within the discipline and enhancing the educational experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and participate in departmental meetings and initiatives.
  • Mentor students in their academic pursuits and provide guidance on career opportunities within zoology.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in zoological research and education methodologies.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree or higher in Zoology or a closely related field is essential.
  • Previous teaching experience at the postgraduate level is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of animal biology, ecology, and conservation practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Proficiency in using technology for teaching purposes, including virtual learning environments.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that supports all students.
  • Research experience in zoology or a related area would be advantageous.
