The job involves preliminary design of static equipment during proposal for estimating the costing. Preparation of Mechanical data sheet, mechanical calculations, purchase requisition, reviewing detail drawings and providing clarifications to technical queries from client, consultant & vendors. Job Roles & Responsibilities: Understanding the technical requirement of a project and preparing the project specification document. Sizing of static equipment considering the layout and project requirements. Design and Detail Engineering of Steel Tanks & Vessels according to ASME SEC VIII, Roark’s Formula, API 650, API 620, AWWA D100, UL-142, UL-58, Shell DEP, etc) ASME SEC IX, Preparing and reviewing all tank related design documents including lifting of equipment. Attend client meetings and responding to queries. Guiding Designers in static equipment fabrication drawing preparation. Review of static equipment fabrication drawings, MTO. Preparing and reviewing of Purchase requisition for plates and other items. Coordinate work with other disciplines etc. Implement company standard practices into design. o Responsible to follow and deploy QMS procedures, ASME U stamp procedures and OSHAS. Responsible to co-ordinate with the ASME authorized inspector. Must be a self-starter, ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate well within the team as well as with other discipline personnel. Organize the department, section or workplace so that any operation or work carried out is to a satisfactory standard of safety, with minimum risk to persons, materials and equipment. Implementation of Health and Safety management system. Participates to HIARA and for new activities/task Takes part in all accident / incident investigation. Allocate enough time for Toolbox meetings and HSE trainings. Co-operate in the investigation of accidents with the objective of introducing methods to prevent re-occurrence. Report all the unsafe conditions, near misses, Incidents etc. immediately to HSE department and ensure adequate control measures are taken to rectify the issues. Skills Good experience in design and detail engineering of static equipment. Good exposure to international codes & standards ASME SEC II, SEC VIII, SEC IX, API 650, API 620, AWWA D100, UL-142, UL-58. Should have good knowledge in technical applications, manufacturing process & methods, Materials strength and its properties Technical Skills Strong knowledge in PV Elite, Nozzle Pro. Strong knowledge in MS excel. Knowledge in excel macros and VB programing will be an added advantage. Familiarity with AutoCAD
