As a Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and diagnosing speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties. Your role will involve developing and implementing effective treatment programs to address these challenges. Additionally, you will provide counseling to patients and their families regarding the results of testing and recommended treatment options. It will be your responsibility to ensure that patients have a clear understanding of their condition, treatment expectations, and goals. Accurate documentation and reporting for all patient visits will be crucial in maintaining quality care. You may also need to delegate duties to support personnel as appropriate and maintain communication with staff and outside agencies in accordance with state guidelines. In cases where specialized care is required, you will refer patients to medical specialists in dentistry, psychology, or related fields.
