Job Description

The Pediatric Consultant is responsible for providing specialist medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. This includes diagnosing and treating a wide range of pediatric conditions, leading clinical teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care, and supporting the development and training of junior medical staff.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of pediatric patients.
Lead pediatric inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency consultations when required.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (nurses, allied health professionals, and other specialists) to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Supervise, mentor, and train junior doctors, residents, and medical students.
Participate in ward rounds, clinics, case discussions, and departmental meetings.
Ensure adherence to clinical governance, patient safety, and infection control protocols.
Engage in audit, research, and quality improvement activities.
Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.
