Role Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Planning Engineer to join our team in Ahmedabad. The successful candidate will go beyond basic scheduling to technically evaluate project requirements and actively track site progress. You will act as the central pivot between the execution team and management, ensuring that complex infrastructure and fabrication projects are delivered within budget and timeline constraints. Key Responsibilities: Project Scheduling & Monitoring: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules. Establish baseline schedules and track critical path activities. Site Progress Tracking: Conduct regular site visits to verify physical progress against the planned schedule. Identify bottlenecks early and propose recovery plans to mitigate delays. Technical Evaluation (Tenders & Quotations): Review and evaluate technical quotations and tenders from vendors/subcontractors to ensure compliance with project specifications and engineering standards. Resource & Material Planning: Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure material delivery dates align with the construction schedule; optimize resource allocation (manpower and machinery) to maximize efficiency. Reporting & Analysis: Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Progress Reports (DPR/WPR/MPR). Regular data analysis and presentation. Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with the Civil, Mechanical, and Precast departments to ensure seamless workflow and resolve technical clashes on-site. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Experience: Proven experience in Project Planning, Project Controls, or Construction Management (Experience in Infrastructure/Airport/Road Projects or Precast projects is a distinct advantage). Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Competence in evaluating the technical feasibility of vendor quotations and tender documents. Software Skills: Preferred: Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, Lookups). Analytical Skills: Strong capability in data interpretation to forecast project trends and make data-driven decisions. Key Competencies: Excellent communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams, ability to prioritize tasks under tight deadlines, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
