Job Title: Pharmacy Manager Paras Hospital Department: Pharmacy Reports to: Hospital Administrator Location: Srinagar Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: The Pharmacy Manager oversees the daily operations of the hospital pharmacy, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of patient care. This role is responsible for the effective and efficient procurement, storage, preparation, and distribution of medications. The Pharmacy Manager collaborates with medical staff to optimize patient outcomes and supports safe and cost-effective drug therapy. Key Responsibilities: Operations & Compliance: Ensure pharmacy operations comply with hospital policies, state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA, DEA, Joint Commission). Maintain accurate records of medications and controlled substances. Monitor drug inventory, purchasing, and storage to prevent shortages or overstock. Ensure proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals. Implement and enforce infection control and safety procedures. Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff. Schedule and assign duties to pharmacy personnel. Evaluate staff performance and provide ongoing feedback and support. Promote a positive and productive work environment. Clinical Support: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to review and advise on medication therapies. Ensure accurate and safe dispensing of medications to patients. Monitor and evaluate drug utilization and make recommendations for formulary additions or deletions. Oversee clinical pharmacy programs, such as antimicrobial stewardship and medication reconciliation. Financial Management: Manage the department budget, monitor drug expenditures, and implement cost-containment strategies. Negotiate with suppliers and maintain relationships with vendors. Monitor billing and reimbursement issues related to pharmaceuticals. Quality & Safety: Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives. Investigate and resolve medication errors and adverse drug reactions. Ensure compliance with medication safety protocols and participate in risk assessments. Qualifications: Education: B Pharma ,M Pharma degree or equivalent from an accredited institution. Licensure: Current pharmacist license in [State]. Additional certifications (e.g., BPS Board Certification, Medication Therapy Management) are a plus. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience. At least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role preferred. Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy practices, drug therapy, and clinical protocols.
