Package Specialist-SAP Ariba

Role Overview

The Package Specialist - SAP Ariba provides application support and continuous improvement for SAP Ariba and related modules, with emphasis on Ariba ISMG and SAP Fieldglass. The role investigates and resolves incidents by performing system log, trace, and error code analysis and by validating data with SQL. It partners closely with business stakeholders and vendors to restore service, document fixes, and enhance the knowledge base. The specialist works within cloud/SaaS environments, leverages Excel for reporting and analysis, and may use Python/Java/JavaScript to automate routine tasks.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience supporting SAP Ariba in a production or application support role
• Module/Sub-module expertise with Ariba ISMG
• Proven SAP Fieldglass expertise (functional/application support)
• Strong system log, trace, and error code analysis skills
• SQL querying and data analysis for triage, validation, and reporting
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills in cloud/SaaS environments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables, formulas)
• Stakeholder relationship building and customer service experience
• Clear documentation skills; ability to create/contribute to knowledge base articles
• Sound decision-making with discretion while handling incidents and sensitive data
• Programming knowledge in Python, Java, or JavaScript for scripting/automation
• Familiarity with cloud-based applications and SaaS operating models
• Foundational SAP product knowledge

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 application support for SAP Ariba (including Ariba ISMG) and SAP Fieldglass
• Triage incidents and service requests; perform root-cause analysis using logs, traces, and error codes
• Use SQL queries to validate, reconcile, and analyze data during investigations
• Collaborate with business users, vendors, and SAP/Ariba support to resolve issues within SLAs
• Create and maintain knowledge base articles, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides
• Monitor and support integrations between Ariba/Fieldglass and upstream/downstream systems
• Produce Excel-based analyses and reports to track incidents, trends, and KPIs
• Recommend and implement process or automation improvements (Python/Java/JavaScript)
• Ensure compliance with change management, security, and audit requirements in a SaaS context
• Support release activities, testing, and post-deployment validation
• Provide customer-service-oriented communication and stakeholder management throughout incident lifecycle
