System upkeep: Maintain and repair water, heating, and drainage systems, including those for laboratories or specialized equipment. Safety and compliance: Ensure all work complies with plumbing codes and regulations. Record-keeping: Maintain logs of work performed, materials used, and time spent on jobs. Inventory and ordering: Manage an inventory of parts and supplies, reordering as needed. * Skills and qualifications Technical skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, using plumbing tools, and understanding plumbing, heating, and drainage systems. Problem-solving: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities to address issues effectively. Physical requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, sometimes in cramped or difficult-to-reach areas. Interpersonal skills: Good communication skills for coordinating with other staff and resolving issues with faculty, staff, and students.
