OT Technician

· Maintain responsibility for the transportation of patients to and from the OT theater,ICU and Recovery.

· Assist staff with the movement of patients within the Operating Theater

· Assist with patient procedures as required

· Maintain procedure room/operating theatre equipment, to ensure a clean, safe and efficient, environment for patients and staff.

· Ensure operating room table is wiped down, floor cleaned, linen and rubbish removed at conclusion of each procedure, Maintain sterile environment at OT.

· Assist in the preparation of patient prior to surgery, Ensure patient positioning and safely on the

· operating table prior to surgery and on the patient trolley at the completion of surgery

· Provide assistance to anesthesiologist and surgeon during surgery

· Promote patient safety at all times

· Assist in other areas within the theatre complex as workload permits

· Maintain good verbal communications with other staff in the theatre complex

· Maintain patient confidentiality at all times

· Be familiar with the correct operation of all equipment

· Collect and return all necessary equipment for the procedure and patient safety

· Report malfunctioning equipment to the OT Manager

· Follow the hospital’s Health and Safety policies and procedures

· Be aware of the OH&S guidelines for the safe transport of beds and patients throughout the hospital

· Responsible for indenting the prescribed drugs from the pharmacy

· Responsible for verifying the correct label, expiry dates of the drugs which are in use for anesthesia and label them properly before giving the anesthesia

· Responsible for keeping the following prior to surgery

· Patient/Cardiac Monitor

· OT Lights

· Fibro Optic Bronchoscope

· Anesthesia Workstatsion

· Suction machine

· Diathermy machine etc.

· Helps the anesthetist in procedure and at recovery of the patient

· Responsible for returning the unused drugs to the OT stores

· Cleaning and keeping ready the Anaesthesia machine

· To ensure cleaning and maintenance of the theater,anesthesia workstation and operation table after every surgery for next surgery with the help of housekeeping Cleanliness of the entire OT Area.

· Upkeep of all the accessories for the OT table according to the procedure

· Ensuring Filling up of anaesthesia drugs with assistance from Consultant Anaesthesia

· Assist in Operation procedure, wherever required

· Follow the Departmental Protocols / Procedures

· Any other jobs assigned as per exigencies of work

· Check the functioning of all machines, equipments and anesthetic trolley.

· Checking availability of Anaesthesia drugs and emergency drugs and its expiry

· Checking availability of stand by Medical Gas Cylinders

· Checks the Central Medical Gas Flow.

· Checking closed Anaesthesia circuit and for its working condition, styllet, kidney trays , E.T Tube, soda lime, Halothane, Isoflamen vaporisers etc.

· Helping in positioning of the patient for respective surgeries.(with table accessories, IV stands, tourniques)

· Assisting Anesthetist for GA,SA extubation

· Supervision of work done by OT Assistants.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
