They are responsible for conducting theory and practical classes, supervising microscopic diagnosis of oral lesions, and guiding students in identifying and interpreting pathological specimens. The lecturer also mentors students in academic projects and thesis work and supports curriculum development and evaluation methods. They engage in departmental research activities, publish scholarly papers, and participate in academic conferences. The role includes maintaining laboratory standards, preparing teaching materials, and ensuring compliance with Dental Council of India (DCI) norms. The senior lecturer also plays a key role in interdepartmental coordination, institutional committees, and faculty development initiatives.
