Job Description

As an Oracle Database Administrator, your primary responsibility will be to install, configure, and upgrade Oracle Database software across various environments. You will be tasked with optimizing database performance by conducting tuning, indexing, and monitoring activities. It will be your duty to design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity. Your role will also involve implementing and managing security measures such as user access controls, encryption, and auditing to safeguard the Oracle databases. Applying patches and updates will be crucial to keep the databases up to date and secure. Additionally, configuring and managing high availability solutions like Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) will be part of your routine tasks. Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL and PL/SQL queries is essential for efficient database operations. You will be expected to plan and execute upgrades to newer Oracle Database versions, migrate databases between servers, and configure Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery. Moreover, managing Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data replication will be within your scope of work. Performing database cloning and refreshing for testing and development purposes, monitoring database capacity for future growth, diagnosing and resolving complex database-related issues, and utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager for comprehensive database management are key aspects of this role. Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, communicating database-related updates, and maintaining accurate documentation for databases and processes are crucial for successful performance in this position.
