Optical NMS Architect

Role Overview: As an Optical Network Developer at Capgemini in Bangalore, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable solutions for managing optical network elements and integrating with SDN controllers and multi-vendor devices. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to deliver robust, standards-compliant network management systems. Key Responsibilities: - Develop solutions for DWDM and OTN based optical networks - Build and maintain systems to manage Optical NEs and entities (e.g., ports, optical pluggables, trails, APS) - Work with SDN controllers such as OpenDaylight (ODL) - Implement protocols like Netconf, YANG, and SNMP - Design and develop NMS solutions for optical networks - Integrate with multi-vendor devices using SNMP, Netconf, and YANG - Enable northbound integration with OSS and applications using Netconf, Restconf, and REST APIs - Build scalable microservices-based solutions using Kubernetes and Kafka Qualifications Required: - 6-12 years of experience in network software development - Strong expertise in DWDM, OTN, and optical network management - Hands-on experience with SDN controllers (ODL preferred) - Proficiency in Netconf, YANG, SNMP, and RESTful APIs - Experience in building NMS solutions and integrating with OSS systems - Familiarity with microservices architecture, Kubernetes, and Kafka - Working experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus - Exposure to Cisco NSO and HCO is desirable - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field Additional Company Details: Capgemini is a global leader in technology-driven transformation, helping organizations accelerate innovation and deliver impactful solutions.
