Optical Fiber Technician/ SPLICER

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Installation: Laying new fiber optic cables in various environments, including underground, underfloor, aerial (on utility poles), and in customer premises (homes, businesses, data centers). This involves tasks like trenching, laying conduit, pulling cables, and securing them properly.
• Splicing and Termination: Precisely joining (splicing) individual optical fibers, either through fusion or mechanical methods, and installing connectors (terminating) to create seamless and low-loss connections.
• Testing and Troubleshooting: Using specialized equipment such as Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs), power meters, light sources, and visual fault locators to test signal strength, locate faults, and diagnose network issues.
• Maintenance and Repair: Conducting regular, planned maintenance routines and responding to emergency service calls to repair or replace damaged or faulty cables and equipment promptly to minimize network downtime.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with fiber optic tools and test equipment (fusion splicers, OTDRs, etc.)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
