Role Overview We're seeking a Commercial & Regulatory Associate Intern to join our team and play a strategic role in shaping the regulatory intelligence framework that powers our platform. This position offers exceptional exposure to India's dynamic power sector landscape, combining regulatory analysis, commercial structuring, and cross-state policy mapping with real business impact. Key Responsibilities Regulatory Intelligence & Framework Development Conduct comprehensive analysis of CERC (Central Electricity Regulatory Commission) and SERC (State Electricity Regulatory Commission) orders, regulations, and tariff policies Map and systematically document regulatory frameworks across Indian states to help build our proprietary regulatory intelligence. Track and analyze evolving policies on open access, renewable energy procurement, and green energy obligations Tariff Structuring & Charge Mapping Create detailed state-wise comparative analysis of transmission charges, distribution margins, cross-subsidy surcharges, wheeling charges, and banking mechanisms Develop dynamic frameworks to track regulatory charge structures that impact project economics Support commercial teams in understanding landed cost implications across different regulatory jurisdictions Commercial Analysis & Risk Assessment Contribute to PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) and SHAs structuring by providing regulatory context Assist in contractual risk assessment related to regulatory compliance and tariff volatility Support financial modelling exercises with accurate regulatory input parameters Market Intelligence Monitor policy developments, regulatory consultations, and industry trends affecting renewable energy procurement Prepare concise briefings on regulatory changes and their commercial implications for internal stakeholders Research emerging areas including carbon markets, I-REC compliance, and ESG frameworks Ideal Candidate Profile Educational Background Currently pursuing or recently completed degree from Tier 1/2 law schools (NLUs, NLSIU, NALSAR or equivalent) or premier policy/economics programs .
