Fundraising Intern - Plastic Exposure Research Initiative OpenVega Research About the Role: We&aposre seeking a driven fundraising intern to help us raise $250k for groundbreaking research into everyday plastic exposure. This project will quantify how much microplastic we&aposre actually ingesting from common activities - from drinking through fast-food straws to eating microwaved meals to wearing synthetic clothing. The Mission: Current plastic exposure research is fragmented and incomplete. We don&apost have comprehensive data on real-world plastic ingestion from everyday consumer behaviors. This research will create the first systematic study of plastic release from common activities, providing the data foundation needed for both individual health decisions and regulatory policy. What You&aposll Do: Research and identify grant opportunities from environmental and health foundations Develop compelling funding proposals that translate complex research goals into fundable projects Build relationships with potential funders, including foundations, government agencies, and impact investors Support crowdfunding and community fundraising efforts Track fundraising progress and maintain donor relationships We&aposre Looking For: Strong written communication skills for grant writing and proposals Research skills for identifying funding opportunities Passion for environmental health and transparency Comfortable with both scientific concepts and fundraising fundamentals Self-motivated with ability to work independently Why This Matters: We&aposre building infrastructure for planetary truth.
