Power System Engineer bengaluru 5 - 10 years INR 10.0 - 20.0 Lacs P.A. Hybrid Full Time

Role Summary: As an experienced Power Systems Engineer to support a strategic initiative for Electricity distribution Networks, involving EHV and HV Electricity grid models transformation from PSS/E to Digslient Power Factory formats. The role focuses on power system studies, topology validation, load flow simulation, and technical design input for automation tools. You will consult with internal stakeholders and external consultants to validate the power network conversion outcomes. Essential Responsibilities: Youll provide technical expertise in clients’ Power Systems Modelling migration program work from PSSE to Dig Salient (Power Factory) and represent the Company in client meetings as a senior member applying your experience and expertise. Your responsibility will be as follows: Stringent analysis of the present network to identify the challenges faced and to reengineer Analysing / Interpreting the results of the power system simulation software, appropriate for design electrical schemes Summarizing the results of all analytical studies and preparation of technical report Interpret and validate PSS/E .raw file content for accurate power system representation. Provide subject matter expertise on converting bus-branch models into node-breaker equivalents. Conduct and evaluate load flow studies, voltage profile validations, and system strength analysis. Review model components like generators, loads, shunts, interconnectors, and substation topology. Support selection of swing bus, convergence methods (e.g., Newton-Raphson), and voltage limits. Collaborate with the development team to ensure accurate mapping of topology and P/Q data. Validate simulation results using tools such as Power Factory and PSAT. Prepare technical design documents, validation reports, and support user acceptance testing. Primary Design Engineer bengaluru 5 - 10 years INR 8.0 - 15.0 Lacs P.A. Hybrid Full Time

Role & responsibilities Role Summary: Will be responsible for performing engineering activities to design primary electrical systems/equipment within the HV/EHV electricity grid, switchgears and power plants. This role involves ensuring that projects are executed in accordance with company procedures, contract specifications, and schedule commitments while adhering to international and local quality standards. Responsibilities include needs analysis, primary system design, conducting site surveys, creation of technical documentations and taking the necessary responsibilities as a project design team member. The role requires collaboration with internal teams, external vendors, and end customers to ensure seamless integration and functionality of electrical design solutions. Essential Responsibilities: • Working knowledge of Transmission & distribution networks (from Low Voltage to Extra High voltage (132kV or upwards) including protection schemes. • Develop and design primary systems for HV/EHV substations and power plants, ensuring reliable operation. • Prepare the technical design documents, including general arrangement drawing, layouts, single line diagrams, sectional views, panel arrangements, cable schedules, earthing systems and technical specifications. • Analyzing the results which are obtained from the power system simulation software. • Prepare scheme for facilitating new connections as well as Network Upgrades along with other Design Teams for finalizing the technical specifications covering Functional requirements, Ratings and parameters, Compliance standards, Interface requirements etc. • Calculate the equipment sizing such as Power Transformer, circuit brakers, capacitors, conductors, cable etc. • Present the technical design of the primary system drawings, detailed specification etc. with the customers and stakeholders for approval. • Summarizing the technical results and technical report preparation and working with client to finalise the Vendor Tender Documentations and technical interactions. • Possess sufficient knowledge and/or experience to work safely in an HV/EHV substation, adhering to HSE regulations and industry standards such as OSHA or equivalent guidelines to mitigate risks and ensure compliance. • Possess familiarity with industry standards and codes such as IEC, IEEE, and local regulations. • Ensure all engineering documentation such as basic design documents, system configurations, and standard operating procedures are accurate. • Work closely with project managers, secondary design engineers, civil design engineers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of primary systems/equipment. Requisite work experience and skill set : • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with specific focus in HV/EHV substations, lines, switchgears, power plants etc. • Knowledge of Transmission & Distribution UK GRID Code/ Standards • Prior experience working with utilities in the UK or Europe, providing familiarity with regional regulations and operational practices. • Knowledge of design tools like AutoCAD for SLDs, layouts, sectional views, cable schedules, earthing systems. Also working knowledge in power system simulation software. • Proficiency in primary equipment sizing such as Aux.
