Operation: Start and stop boilers, adjusting controls for fuel, air, water, and steam pressure. Monitor gauges, meters, and controls to ensure boilers are operating within specified limits. Operate auxiliary equipment like pumps, pulverizers, and oil heaters. Maintenance and repair: Perform routine inspections of boilers, pumps, valves, and other components. Conduct preventative maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment, and replacing worn parts like valves and filters. Make minor repairs to pipes and fittings. Safety and compliance: Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and standards. Respond to alarms and emergency situations. Perform and supervise water testing and chemical treatment to prevent corrosion and ensure water quality. Record keeping: Maintain logs of readings, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities. Record water test results and chemical usage.
