Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Design, implement, and operate distributed databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, CrateDB, Elasticsearch) across cloud and on-prem environments.
Ensure high availability, security, and performance across our data platforms with appropriately scoped HADR solutions.
Optimise queries, manage large data migrations, and lead initiatives like ILM and schema evolution for growing datasets.
Work across teams to ensure databases align with application architecture, business needs, and security requirements.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues,

Preferred candidate profile

Solid experience (4 to 8 years) managing and supporting MongoDB and Cassandra in production-grade systems.
Practical experience working across public clouds (AWS, GCP).
Strong scripting skills in Python or Bash.
Deep understanding of Linux system administration and performance tuning.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with diverse technical and non-technical teams.
Willingness to participate in a shared on-call rotation to ensure uptime and reliability.
