Position Overview:The Senior Steward is responsible for overseeing the stewarding department operations, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, maintaining equipment, and supervising a team of stewards. They support kitchen and food & beverage operations by maintaining hygiene and supporting logistics. Key Responsibilities:Supervise daily operations of the stewarding team. Ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and areas. Monitor cleanliness standards to comply with health and safety regulations. Train and guide new stewards on cleaning procedures and hygiene protocols. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals; request restocking when necessary. Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling practices. Coordinate with chefs and kitchen staff to support smooth kitchen operations. Inspect dishwashing and pot washing areas regularly. Handle minor maintenance issues or report them to maintenance staff. Schedule shifts and assign duties to stewarding staff. Ensure that breakage and loss of kitchen items is minimized. Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
