Position: Junior Perfumer Department : Fragrance R&D Direct Superior : Chief Perfumer– Fragrance R&D Direct Subordinates : No Scope: We are looking for a talented and experienced Junior Perfumer to create and develop winning fragrances for a variety of product categories, including fine fragrance, personal care, home care, and air fresheners. The ideal candidate brings a strong creative vision, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of raw materials and market trends to craft winning scents that delight consumers and meet the client expectations. The individual is expected to be a strong team player who believes in collective success & seamlessly shares knowledge to build the overall Fra creation capabilities . Key Responsible Areas: Fragrance Creation: Design original fragrances or modify existing ones in line with briefs, target cost, brand positioning, regulatory and performance requirements. Brief Handling: Interpret creative briefs from clients or internal stakeholders and develop innovative olfactive solutions tailored to specific market segments. Re-Mastering Fragrances: Strong expertise in remastering fragrances for target cost, closeness & performance by applying deep knowledge of Aroma chemicals, GCMS reports, and key natural and specialty ingredients in the fragrance formulations. Collaboration: Work closely with evaluators, marketing, R&D, and regulatory teams to ensure fragrance alignment with brand goals and technical requirements. Raw Material Knowledge: Thorough and deep knowledge of aroma chemicals, natural extracts, and specialty ingredients to create cutting edge perfumer formulations. Technical Performance: Ensure the olfactive and functional performance of fragrances across various bases and applications (e.g., lotions, sprays, detergents etc.). Regulatory Compliance: Formulate within regulatory and safety guidelines (e.g., IFRA, REACH). Olfactive Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior perfumers and lab assistants to build team capabilities. Trend Awareness: Stay updated on market trends, consumer preferences, and innovation in fragrance technology and raw materials. Working Relationship: I. External • Customers • Vendors Education : Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry/formulation sciences or related disciplines. Experience : Min. 5 - 7 years of working experience in an international or local fragrance house and/or handling perfumes in consumer goods company. Skill/Knowledge Proven success in developing fragrances across one or more product categories (fine fragrance, personal care, home care, etc.). Strong creative and sensory abilities with a refined olfactive sense. Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills. Proficiency with fragrance formulation software and MS Office tools.
