The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire namkeen production process, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and hygiene. A key part of this role involves driving New Product Development (NPD) and the enhancement of existing products to maintain our competitive edge and market leadership. Key Responsibilities 1. Production Planning & Management: Plan and oversee the daily production schedule for namkeen products to meet targets efficiently. Ensure production is carried out as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality specifications. Monitor and control critical process parameters like frying temperature, time, moisture content, mixing ratios, and seasoning. 2. New Product Development & Product Enhancement: Lead the New Product Development (NPD) initiatives for the namkeen division from concept to commercialization. Collaborate with the R&D and Marketing teams to create innovative products that meet consumer trends. Work on the enhancement of existing products to improve taste, texture, shelf-life, and cost-effectiveness. Scale up new and improved recipes from the lab to full-scale production, ensuring consistency and quality. 3. Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensure strict adherence to FSSAI regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and all quality control standards. Implement and monitor HACCP protocols in the production area. Conduct regular quality checks on raw materials (e.g., besan, oil, spices), in-process materials, and finished goods. 4. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and manage the production team, including operators and helpers. Schedule shifts, allocate tasks, and ensure optimal manpower utilization. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality consciousness within the team. 5. Process Improvement & Cost Control: Drive initiatives to optimize production processes, reduce wastage (oil, raw materials), and improve yield. Monitor the consumption of raw materials and packing materials to control costs. Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Required Qualifications & Experience Educational Qualification: B.Tech / B.E. in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A Diploma with exceptional experience may be considered. Experience: A minimum of 12 years of hands-on experience in a production role within a namkeen or snack food manufacturing company. Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the entire namkeen production process (from raw material preparation to frying, seasoning, and packaging).
