NLP Scientist

As a NLP scientist at Miimansa, you will play a crucial role in developing and prototyping innovative methods for various natural language understanding tasks related to clinical texts. Your responsibilities will include being a key contributor to Miimansa's research collaborations with academic NLP research groups, engaging in NLU challenge tasks, and contributing to publications. You will stay updated on state-of-the-art methods relevant to Miimansa's product pipeline and offer recommendations for the product roadmap and strategy. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and prototype novel methods for natural language understanding tasks in clinical texts - Collaborate with academic NLP research groups and participate in NLU challenge tasks and publications - Stay abreast of advancements in state-of-the-art methods relevant to Miimansa's product pipeline - Provide recommendations for product roadmap and strategy based on latest NLP research Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or engineering with a focus on language processing. Exceptional candidates with a bachelor's degree in CS and relevant experience will also be considered. - Minimum of 2+ years of experience in NLP and relevant projects. This requirement may be relaxed for candidates with a PhD. - Solid understanding of common NLP tasks such as text classification, entity recognition, entity extraction, and question answering. - Familiarity with NLP techniques for language modeling, text representation, and semantic extraction. - Proficiency in current DNN architectures, training, and evaluation methods in NLP, with the ability to adapt them for clinical/medical data and problems. - Hands-on experience with repository management, GPU utilization, and setting up NLP pipelines for testing new ideas. - Knowledge of NLP literature, key areas of research, relevant conferences, and code repositories. - Proficient in Python programming and libraries like Huggingface, Spacy, and OpenAI API. - Willingness and ability to mentor engineering interns.
