Your Role as a Clinical Application Engineer The PACS Clinical Application Engineer plays a crucial role in optimizing medical imaging workflows by ensuring seamless integration, configuration, and support of imaging applications. As a key liaison between customers, radiology teams, clinical departments, and IT, this role enhances system performance, ensures compliance with healthcare regulations, and supports end-users in leveraging imaging technologies effectively. By aligning technical expertise with clinical needs, this position helps healthcare providers streamline image acquisition, storage, retrieval, and reporting, ultimately improving patient care and operational efficiency. Role & responsibilities Main Responsibilities include- Customer Centric System Optimization Act as the bridge between customer and healthcare teams, ensuring optimal system performance and user experience. Customizes PACS and image applications to align radiology workflows, building trust with end users. Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g. HIPAA), ensuring secure and efficient handling of medical imaging data. Enhancing User Experience and Training Providing training to the radiologists and IT team ensuring confidence in system usage. Encouraging a collaborative problem-solving method by working closely with clinical professionals as well as IT professionals in resolving the workflow challenges. Create a feedback driven environment where user input help shape the continuous improvement in the application. Technical Leadership & Future-Readiness Configures and optimize PACS, and image applications to enhance radiology workflows based on evolving clinical needs. Works on seamless integration of imaging modalities (CT, MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound) with PACS/imaging systems. Stays updated with industry standards (DICOM, HL7, IHE) and cutting-edge leverage solutions for system enhancements. Stakeholder Communication & Execution Excellence Ensures efficient image acquisition, storage, retrieval, and reporting, boosting workflow efficiency. Troubleshoots and resolves technical challenges, ensuring high system uptime and performance. Assists in audits, quality assurance, and system performance monitoring, ensuring continuous improvements and compliance. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in radiologic technology, Healthcare Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field. 2-5 years of experience working with PACS, or imaging applications in a clinical environment. Strong understanding of radiology workflows, imaging modalities, and clinical operations. Familiarity with DICOM, HL7, IHE, and PACS administration tools. Proficiency in clinical systems integration and troubleshooting imaging application issues. Excellent communication and training skills to work with clinical and IT teams. Analytical and problem-solving skills to enhance system performance and user experience. Onsite support as and when required. Potential on-call support and travel to clinical sites. What You’ll Do As a Clinical Application Engineer, you'll: Lead PACS configuration and support across CT, MRI, and other imaging systems. Be the bridge between clinical, radiology, and IT teams — translating workflow needs into technical solutions. Optimize image acquisition, storage, and reporting across hospital systems. Ensure DICOM/HL7/IHE compliance and prepare systems for audits and quality checks. Deliver hands-on training to radiologists, technicians, and support teams. What We’re Looking For- 8–12 years of experience with PACS systems in a hospital or clinical environment Strong domain knowledge of CT and MRI imaging workflows Familiarity with DICOM, HL7, IHE standards , and imaging integration Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills Onsite support readiness (travel as needed across client locations) Education: Bachelor’s in Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent.
